Pittsburg Police Announce Homicide Arrest

by ECT

The Pittsburg Police Department announced the arrest of a 43-year-old man in connection with an October 13 homicide.

The incident took place at 2:00 am where shots were fired in the 600 block of Cumberland Street. When officers arrived on scene they located the 38 year old victim, identified as Jjuan Sanders, in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. Sanders was transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

During the investigation, detectives identified Taurus Miller (43 years) as the person responsible for shooting Sanders and a warrant for his arrest was obtained.

Early Friday morning, detectives determined Miller was staying at a residence in the city of Stockton.

A Search Warrant was obtained for the residence and shortly after 3 A.M. this morning the Pittsburg Police Department SWAT team, along with the assistance of the Stockton Police Department, served the Search Warrant at the residence.

Miller was located inside the residence and placed under arrest. This case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office next week.

This was the city of Pittsburg’s second homicide of the year.

Was that activity you describe taking place at that bar which is on Cumberland? They’re located across from the Mechanics’ Bank parking lot?
