Pittsburg: Motorcyclist Killed Friday Afternoon

At 4:15 pm Friday, Pittsburg Police were dispatched to a report of a vehicle vehicle versus motorcycle in the 800 block of E Leland Road in the City of Pittsburg.
According to police, when officers arrived at the location, they located the motorcyclist lying in the roadway unresponsive. Officers immediately began life saving efforts, including CPR, until medical personnel arrived.
The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The identity of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending contact with next of kin.
During the investigation, officers located the driver of the car who had remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Impairment does not appear to be a factor at this time.
It was determined the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on East Leland Road approaching the intersection with Piedmont Way when the collision occurred. The Traffic Division and the Fatal Accident Response Team responded to take over the investigation.
