Photos: E-Waste Fundraiser

by ECT

Residents of East County did their part yesterday to help raise funds for the Liberty Union High School District Foundation by donating televisions, BBQ’s, and basically anything metal at the Streets of Brentwood. The event was held in conjunction with Blue Star Electronics, LLC, who split the proceeds after all materials are loaded and weighed.  According to an updated posted on their Facebook page, they had around 95 cars come through the event which filled 1 large truck and another flat bed truck with E-Waste

Participants droped off computer monitors, LCD/LED monitors and TVs, plasma TVs, computers, hard drives, computer peripherals, laptops, DVD players, VCRs, printers, scanners, FAX/copy/answering machines, servers, radios, stereos, recorders, phonographs, circuit boards, CD/video/cassettes, CD players, calculators, power supplies, telecommunications equipment, all consumer electronics, bikes and small and large appliances.

REI helped sponsor the event and was handing out 20% discounts to anyone who donated to the event.

Way to go East County!

Here are some pictures I took which include Foundation Board Members Karen Rarey and Jen Birkland. I also captured Brentwood City Councilman Gene Clare dropping off a nice sized TV.

thanks for covering something important to our community. Sad that nothing was in the times.
