Oct. 8: Concert Set to Raise Funds for Antioch PAL

by ECT

On October 8, a special benefit concert will be held at Leer Vineyards to help raise funds for the Antioch Police Activities League.

The concert will feature the band FOREJOUR:A Tribute to Foreigner and Journey and the proceeds will benefit Antioch PAL.  The cost per ticket is $35 (or $40 at the door) and will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The band Forejour does one charity concert a year to give back to the community and the idea to give back to Antioch PAL came from the drummers wife, Jill Fister who is also a local Realtor.

Fister approached Chief Allan Cantando who immediately got on board with the idea.

“This band always puts on a great show and it’s something the community will enjoy at a beautiful facility,” says Cantando. “The proceeds will help the programs continue to provide activities for kids within the community.”

The concert was originally scheduled for May, however, there was a heavy rainfall prior to the concert which soaked the grass area and did not allow for a proper sound check. There was also the possibility of water damage to equipment. The event was deemed a “rainout”.

With warm weather throughout the summer, that will not be a problem and is anticipated to be even more fun per Fister and says concert goers need to bring lawn chair or blanket.

Food will also be available for purchase on site. The event is 21 and over only.
