Minor Injuries After AMTRAK Train Strikes Tomato Truck Near on Orwood Road in Brentwood

At 2:45 pm Friday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to the area of a Fallman Rd and Orwood Road in unincorporated Brentwood on a report of an AMTRAK train versus tomato truck.

As of 3:05 pm, the driver of the semi-truck sustained minor injuries. The fire district also said 49 people on the train sustained no injuries while 1 person sustained minor injuries.

UPDATE
Per ECCFPD, they reported 3 patient transported, 1 patient released at scene and 47 not injured on the train.

I know it was an accident. But, unless that truck stalled out, there is no reason, other than stupidity, for this to have happened. Trains are difficult not to hear and SEE. You have to be very special to play chicken with a train.
