May 4: Empty the Shelter Event Returns

On May 4, the Bissell Pet Foundation will host the Empty the Shelters event with 110+ shelters participating across the country—including Antioch Animal Services and Contra Costa County Animal Services.

During this event, you can adopt a pet for just $25. The Bissell Pet Foundation will then cover the remainder of the adoption fee because they want to help as many pets find loving homes as possible.

Participating Local Shelters include:

• Antioch Animal Services – 300 L St., Antioch
• Berkeley Humane Society – 2700 Ninth Street, Berkeley
• Contra Costa Animal Services – 4800 Imhoff Pl, Martinez
• East Dublin Animal Shelter – 4595 Gleason Dr, Dublin
• Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation – 2890 Mitchell Drive, Walnut Creek
• Valley Humane Society – 3670 Nevada St, Pleasanton

Since May of 2016, the program has resulted in 19,099 pet adoptions.
