Liberty High School Student Assaulted With BB Gun, Two Others Also Injured

by ECT

Shortly after 3:00 pm Wednesday at Liberty High School in Brentwood, a non-student ran onto campus firing a BB gun at a student and injured two other females in the process. The subject then ran off campus.

Brentwood Police, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District and AMR all responded to the school by 3:13 pm.

Here is a message from Liberty High School Principal  Walsh:

After school today, a non-student came onto our campus and assaulted one of our students using a BB gun. Two girls near the student were also injured. The assailant then ran off campus. This incident was not random; the assailant purposefully directed his attack at the injured student. We are working closely with law enforcement to identify the perpetrator. If your son/daughter have any information that would be helpful, please contact any trusted adult on campus.

For the next several days we will have increased security and police presence on our campus. We are increasing security out of an abundance of caution in order to keep our students safe. Student safety is our highest priority and we will continue to be vigilant in our supervision of the campus.
