Karen Rarey Announces Brentwood City Council Run

by ECT

Brentwood resident Karen Rarey announced via social media on Saturday that she will be running for a Brentwood City Council seat this fall.

In her announcement, Rarey stated her priorities include economic development and public safety which includes fire protection.

Rarey has been a resident of Brentwood since 1995 and in 2011 was named the Brentwood Citizen of the Year. She has served on many boards including the Liberty Union High School District Education Foundation and the John Marsh Historic Trust committee, Relay for Life, and was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Brentwood.

Brentwood will have two open seats after City Council members Gene Clare and Erick Stonebarger have both announced they will not seek re-election this fall.

John Fink, Realtor and Planning Commissioner has already announced he will run for election. Meanwhile, Claudette Staton, who also serves on the planning commission is also expected to announce she will be running for city council.

Here is a look at Rarey’s statement:

“I’ve decided to throw my hat into the ring – I’m running for the Brentwood City Council.
I sure would appreciate all of my friends’ support.  Soon I’ll be inviting you all to follow me on my candidate Facebook page – and hopefully you all will jump on my bandwagon.
My priorities are economic development and public safety (specifically fire protection), but I want to hear from all of you – tell me what’s important to you!”

The Brentwood Mayors seat is also up for election this year, Brentwood Mayor Bob Taylor has already announce he is seeking re-election.

I’ll vote anyone who would fix the Rush hour traffic on Heritage and Adams school !

I wouldn’t vote for Karen Rarey if she was the only candidate. That woman is a angry monster and doesn’t deserve to serve on any public board.

Brentwood is screwed up already, let’s not make it worse.

Vote No on Rarey.
