Judge Orders NorCal K9 Not to Train or Take Care of Animals

by ECT
District Attorney

The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office announced earlier this week defendants Garry Reynolds and Devon Ashby were held to answer and will stand trial for eight felony counts of animal abuse/neglect. Judge John Allen also ordered defendant Reynolds to not train or take care of animals.

Reynolds is the owner of NorCal K9 – a purported dog training company. Ashby was a trainer working for Reynolds and NorCal K9. One dog, Gunner, died in the care of Reynolds last year in Antioch.

7 other dogs under the care of NorCal K9 were also found to be under extreme duress and presenting health problems. The house used as the training facility in Antioch was kept in disarray and dogs were not able to access clean water or food.

Evidence also presented during the preliminary hearing also demonstrated that the dogs under care of NorCal K9 were fed raw and rotting chicken meat, despite being provided regular dog food from the owners as part of their boarding and training agreement with NorCal K9.

The District Atorney’s Office thanked both the Antioch Police Department and Antioch Animal Control Services for their assistance during the investigation.

The author of this article should get his facts correct before he publishes articles because some of what he said in this article is incorrect and not correct.

The information came directly from the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office… don’t like the details, take it up with the DA’s office.

I will do just that. Reporters should check their facts about the people they are reporting about. Not everything he stated in this article is true. Maybe they and the DA should look up some facts. Start with the State of California license business and go from there. You are judging people in this article before you know all the facts and truth behind everything.

First it’s Pj and then Whiskeygirl! Whatever. Sounds to me you might be the Garry or Devon or certainly someone that has befriended these animal abusers. There has been proven fact already regarding the charges against these cruel people. WE probably don’t even know half. ECT reported exactly what the DA’s office is reporting. Sorry you don’t like it…. or can’t accept it. I hope this order is for the rest of their lives!!

Look missy you think you know everything you don’t know nothing maybe you should get an education in facts I am neither of the people in the article. Fact 1. The DA and the reporter reported this guy Garry Reynolds is a business owner of a business called Norcal K9 but according to the State of California business search no such business exists. Never have I heard of a person being able to run a business in any state legally without a business license. Which brings number 2. How does a non existent business have employees? I would think the DA of Contra Costa County would have look into that along with the state of California for taxes that would not have been paid but both names parties and courts refer to Mr Reynolds as a business owner. I googled this man and was shocked to read the post on him
Never in my post did I say he was innocent in the charges leveled against him. As for the change of names in my post maybe if you googled him you would understand my reasoning if you don’t you missed the whole point of who this man is.

Really there is no business called norcal k9 funny how the website pops right up so that is the dumbest thing ever I know nothing of the charges or case against this business but you can also look at yelp idiot and see a review where Gary mentions Devon so maybe you should just quit now because you sound stupid

do Jun 21, 2019 - 1:52 pm

And if these charges are true then he deserves to spend the rest of his life in jail for these crimes anyone that abuses animals is a complete piece of shit ?

How can something be “incorrect and not correct?”

Wesside Jun 20, 2019 - 5:48 pm

Rips my heart out. These poor animals. Antioch is the worst town for animals. I hope the judge throws the book at these people and they have to drink dirty water, live in a mess and eat rotten food. I hope there aren’t any more of these places lurking around.

Joe Jun 20, 2019 - 10:45 pm

Why aren’t they in jail?

Sue Jun 21, 2019 - 12:12 pm

The next step (do they dare?) is to go to where these abominable “training” practices originate, and are still in use – the military and police/sheriffs K9 units. I worked in law enforcement, and the brutality done to the dogs is off the charts, even sometimes resulting in death. And when the door to torture is opened, the sadists rush in, so we have some K9 handlers also absuing their dogs just for personal amusement.

sandra bell Jun 21, 2019 - 12:44 pm

Put these dog torturers in prison. That would be more humane than what the emaciated dogs endured. I thank the judge for as much as he did. However, the punishment never fits the crime. These two twisted, greedy psychopaths need meaningful consequences.

martin nmn Jun 21, 2019 - 9:40 pm

Lock these animal torturers with 2 very hungry Presa Canadios and get them to experience true punishment. Forget the courts! The courts will just give them a slap-on-the-hand. The Canarios will do them justice!

jim randal Jul 13, 2019 - 2:29 pm

Dear whiskey girl u DO NOT need a business license to operate in Contra Costa county aka Contra to the law county
All u need is FRIENDS as judges and paid off cops and paid off postmasters.

I can show you the proof of this if u need it…and CCC da was just forced to leave office after Civil grand jury refereed his endless corruption to California state AG
Cus you have ZERO law enforcement in CCC …
