Jan 2-8: Antioch Police Calls

The following is a sampling of the Antioch Police Calls reported between January 2-8 which focuses on the higher priority call responses in the City of Antioch.

Donuts Gone Wrong

This week, Antioch Police also reported that they were dispatched to the Antioch Marina (see photo above)  due to reports of a white Camero doing donuts and then crashing into a light pole. The suspect attempted to flee the scene.

As a result, the subject was arrested for reckless driving and a 30-day hold was placed on his vehicle–though he wouldn’t have been able to drive away anyways.

Antioch Police took a moment to remind drivers about reckless driving, sideshows and law enforcement is committed to using the full extend of the law to stop such involved activity. In addition to having your vehicle towed, any driver participating in a sideshow can have their driver’s license suspended up to 6 months and be subject to arrest.

Antioch Police Seek Help Locating Murder Suspect

Antioch Police also announced they are asking for the public’s help locating a murder suspect.  A felony warrant has been issued for Robert Mathews arrest for first degree murder and attempted murder with gang enhancements. On 11-10-2021 Mathews shot and killed Johnta White in an unprovoked attack, in the middle of the day, at a busy gas station on Lone Tree Way.

He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information with his whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Whitaker at (925) 779-6890.
