Highway 4: Vehicles Catch Fire After Possibly Street Racing, Crash Near Hillcrest Exit

Just after 2:00 am Sunday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to westbound Highway 4 after a report of a vehicle crash involving two vehicles who were possibly racing.

The crash was reported between Laurel Road and Hillcrest with two vehicles on fire with debris all over the roadway.

At 2:16 am, it was reported that both vehicles appeared unoccupied. All lanes were blocked.
