Heritage High School Evacuated After Bomb Threat Hoax, Classes Cancelled

A bomb threat at Heritage High School cancelled classes Wednesday as Brentwood Police investigated the threat and searched the campus.

Brentwood Police said they received a call from a male claiming to have planted “bombs” throughout the campus of Heritage High School. A short time later a staff employee at Heritage High School received a call from a male subject reporting the same thing.

Brentwood-PDAccording to police, students were arriving on campus at about the same time, however, summer school classes had not started for the day. For precautionary safety reasons, all campus activities were suspended for the day while a search was conducted by police and school staff. By 10:30 am, the school was deemed safe.

According to Superintendent Eric Volta, summer school classes will resume tomorrow, however, students will have to make up the lost day.

The Brentwood Police Department and the Liberty Union High School District are investigating this incident in hopes of identifying the source of the call. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the police department at (925) 634-691.
