At 10:10 pm Wednesday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 100 block of Beede Way in the City of Antioch.
While responding, units reported smoke and flames observed a mile out and called it a working fire. Upon arrival, they located a 5,000 square-foot home engulfed with flames and requested a 2-alarm response.
Crews were able to keep the fire to the home of origin that was a total loss along with four vehicles.
According to the Battalion Chief, crews faced several challenges on this fire from the size of the home and realized it was a two-story home with a walk-in basement, the home was under construction.
The fire was under control by 10:44 pm and no injuries were reported. All five residents were safely evacuated prior to firefighter arrival. Red Cross was requested to the scene.
