Firefighters Battle Vegetation Fire on Vasco Road

At 10:19 pm Wednesday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vegetation fire in the area of Camino Diablo and Vasco Road in unincorporated Brentwood.

Upon arrival, Engine 93 reporting at least 3-acres of fire line. All units were requested to continue which included CALFIRE.

At 10:35 pm, law enforcement was requested to shut down traffic in both directions as of 10:35 pm.

As of 10:40 pm, Battalion 9 reported 25-acres on fire.

This is the second fire today in the area. On Wednesday morning, crews battled a 1/2 acre fire at Marsh Creek Road near Camino Diablo at approximently 6:20 am.

As of 11:05 pm, forward progress was stopped at approximently 25 acres.

UPDATE
Fire crews have cleared the scene after 4 hours and 40 minutes. Roadway is also open in both directions.
