Firefighters Battle House Fire in Antioch

by ECT

At 9:00 am Wednesday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to a report of a house on fire in the 2700 block of Del Oro Circle in the City of Antioch.

The report came from Antioch Police who were evacuating the home and area. The incident is off Buchanan Road.

While responding, black smoke was reported a mile out with oxygen tanks and propane tanks going off.

Upon arrival, firefighters located a fire in the garage which extended to the side of the home and into the attic area.

By 9:26 am, it was reported that the fire was out and heavy overhaul was required.

According to a neighbor, the house has been a known hoarders house and constantly calling Antioch Code Enforcement and Antioch Police for a resolution due to heavy blight. At one point, the home was even red tagged.

No further information on the fire was available.

It would be nice if the news would the story right in stead of reporting false information
