Update: Firefighters Battle 2-Alarm Apartment Fire in Antioch, 2 Rescued

At 8:24 am Tuesday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a commercial structure fire in the 2800 block of Gentrytown Drive in the City of Antioch.

As units were responding, there was a report of possibly an elderly person who was trapped in an apartment. Units also reported smoke showing while responding.

By 8:24 am, Truck 83 arrived on scene reporting a two-story apartment with heavy fire showing.

T83 reported a fully involved end unit on fire with possibly two elderly inside.

By 8:36 am, CONFIRE reported 1 patient was out of the building and being treated by AMR

By 8:40 am, Battalion 5 reported the fire was knocked down and 2nd Alarm Units cancelled. 1 patient was being treated by AMR on scene and another person trapped sustained no injuries. Both were being transported to a local hospital. One deceased dog was located.

AMR now has “patients?” Was this a nursing facility which caught fire?
