Firefighters Battle 2-Alarm Apartment Complex Fire on Sycamore Drive

At 8:23 pm Friday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a fire at an apartment complex in the 2300 block of Sycamore Drive in the City of Antioch.

While units were responding, it was reported that at least 1 single-story apartment was on fire with explosions heard.

As CONFIRE arrived on scene, they reported a heavily involved fire at a 1-story apartment with exposure to a nearby 2-story building. Within minutes, they requested a 2-alarm response after the fire extended to the other building which began to have heavy fire involvement.

Antioch Police Department were on scene helping firefighters evacuate occupants.

9:00 pm Update: Fire has been knocked down
9:11 pm Update – all occupants of the apartment complex accounted for. The fire was actually located at Spanos & Auto Center.  All residents safely evacuated. Total of 10 units involved in fire. No injuries reported at this time. Firefighters in extensive overhaul.
