Fairfield Police Arrest Oakland Man for Armed Robbery and Sexual Assault

On Friday, Fairfield Police officers arrested 37-year-old Dewayne Allen Wright, an Oakland resident, for an armed robbery and sexual assault that occurred in the 1800 block of West Texas Street on Thursday.

Wright, who has a history of violent offenses, was booked into Solano County Jail on several charges including Forced Oral Copulation, Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Felon in possession of a Firearm, possession of an illegal firearm, and violation of parole. He had three outstanding felony warrants, one out of San Francisco for assault, one out of Oakland for Robbery, and one for Violation of Parole out of the Department of Corrections.

Wright was arrested without incident after officers were alerted to his vehicle’s location through the FLOCK Automated License Plate Reader system. Officers saw the car and stopped it just after 2:00 pm at the Eastbound I-80 Truck Scales in Cordelia. At the time of his arrest, Wright was under state supervised parole.

Due to the nature of this case, no further details will be released.



Update: The person of interest is now in police custody.

The Fairfield Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest in an armed robbery and sexual assault that occurred in the 1800 Block of West Texas Street on October 27 at 7am.

The attached are photos of a possible suspect and the car he was driving.  The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information regarding the identity and/or whereabouts of this person or the car is asked to call Fairfield Police at 707-428-7600. This is still an open and active investigation, and no further information will be released at this time
