Fairfield: 16-Year-Old Shot and Killed, Teen Arrested

On July 31, 2016 at 7:56 pm the Fairfield Police Department began receiving phone calls regarding a shooting that had occurred in the 2700 block of N. Texas St.

Officers arrived on scene and located a male victim in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.  He was transported to a local trauma center and was later pronounced deceased.

Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit were called out and began investigating the incident.  During the investigation it was determined that the victim and suspect had prior knowledge of each other and had been in an argument just prior to the shooting.

The victim has been identified as a 16 year old male Fairfield resident.  His name is not available at this time.

An arrest warrant was issued for the 16 year old suspect and he was taken into custody by Fairfield Police Department SWAT at approximately 5:10 am in the 2000 block of Bristol Ln.
