Martinez, Calif. – Two men from Antioch and Pittsburg face multiple felony firearm assault charges related to a shooting in Pleasant Hill that threatened four teenage minors.
Alexander Martinez-Curena, 19 of Pittsburg and Saul Jimenez, 19 of Antioch both face a four-count felony complaint with enhancements for the crime of assault with a semiautomatic firearm [PC245(b)]. Charges were filed against Jimenez on September 12th, and against Martinez-Curena on September 26th.
The shooting took place on September 9th, 2022, at Pleasant Oaks Park in Pleasant Hill around 10:55 pm following a high school football game. A group of high school students were at the park when shots were fired in their direction.
In the aftermath, several witnesses observed two males in a black car flee from the scene. The ensuing police investigation led to the identity of the perpetrators and the vehicle involved in the incident.
Jimenez was subsequently arrested on September 11th in Antioch and Martinez-Curena on the 21st in Pittsburg.
Jimenez will be arraigned in Martinez on September 27th at 1:35 pm. He’s currently in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility with a bail amount set at $680,000. Martinez-Curena will be arraigned at a future date and his bail amount has not been set.
