At 4:37 pm Friday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a residential structure fire in the 4900 block of North Pt off Double Point Way in the Town of Discovery Bay.

It was reported that a roof was on fire and the family was evacuating the home.

By 4:47 pm, Engine 59 arrived on scene to report a palm tree had caught on fire that landed on the roof and were still on fire. Engine 59 requested one additional engine for manpower but cancelled all additional units.
