At 2:47 pm Thursday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a vehicle crash with rescue in the Town of Discovery Bay.
It was reported that there was an overturned big rig blocking all lanes with the driver who exited the vehicle.
UPDATE per CHP
Today at about 2:47pm, Contra Costa CHP units were advised of a solo big rig rollover collision on Hwy-4 in east county at Old River Bridge. Upon CHP and emergency personnel arrival, a big rig had crashed and was overturned, blocking the entire roadway. The big rig had also spilled some oil but this is not considered a hazardous material incident.
The solo male driver of the big rig was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries only. The entire roadway was shut down shortly after 3pm in both directions, so Old River bridge is not accessible. PLEASE SEEK ALTERNATIVE routes. The hard closure of the roadway is in effect for the next several hours. We will update this post and our social media when the roadway is open.

Why yes, yes I did.
This idiot had to be racing when he hit the curve. Very unusual at that turn to tip a semi over unless you were trying.
Really screwed up traffic and that driver should pay for being dumb.
