by ECT

A home that caught fire in the town of Discovery Bay Thursday evening was burglarized sometime between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am Friday.

The fire broke out just after 5:30 pm in the 100 block of Castle Rock Loop off Lake Shore Circle and was under control by 6:00 pm according to firefighters.

The homeowner came back to the home early this morning where he located a damaged sliding door where someone made entry. he then contacted the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office.

Upon further investigation, the homeowner discovered several items from the home were missing. He walked into the master bedroom being ransacked with jewellery stolen, replica air soft guns, and other highly valuable items.

The resident is asking for local residents in the neighborhood if they have any video or information that may be helpful to contact the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office in hopes of identifying the suspect(s).

As of 10:30 am Friday, the Sheriffs Office was still on scene investigating the burglary.

Perhaps a good place to start… The government mandated Inclusionary Housing below market rate (BMR) ownership program, on Gold Creek Circle, across the bridge in the Lakes. I have often experienced a few “DEPLORABLES” in and around that area. I have even on occasion chased a “DEPLORABLE” out of my garage, in Lake Shore. The bridge between these communities must be locked!
