At 8:40 pm Sunday, East Contra Costa firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire along State Route 4 and Discovery Bay Blvd. in the Town of Discovery Bay.
By 8:45 pm, Engine 59 was on scene stating the roadside fire was about 20×20 feet large, however, it was getting into pine trees. It was also up against a cinder block wall which the District was getting reports that it had jumped the wall and began spreading to an open field.
A short-time later, Engine 59 reported they had good knock down on the fire, but were requesting all units continue as a precaution.
By 8:51 pm, Engine 59 reported the fire was knocked down, however they had extensive overhaul.
