Discovery Bay Clam Chowder Cook-Off a Hit, Sells Out!

The folks of Discovery Bay learned Saturday that they can put on a much larger Clam Chowder Cook-Off next year as they sold out (250 participants) within 75-minutes of the event starting. It sounds like next year participants will need to make 10-15 gallons of chowder.

Sounds like it was nice. However, my son, his friend, and their 3 kids paid and by the time they got up there, there was no chowder left! Quite disappointing. Pam D.

Rule of thumb, always make more just in case!!!! It’s embarrassing to run out of something halfway through an event! Still, I give them credit for doing that will stick in the future.

Thanks Mike! Yes, the communities response was much greater than we had anticipated! We will be better prepared next time! This is just the FIRST annual one 🙂 And we will be following this event up with a chili cook-off in the fall! Is it ok if I use your pictures?
