Discovery Bay: 16-Year-Old Airlifted to Hospital After Bicycle Crash

At 3:01 pm Tuesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a youth who had fallen off a bicycle in the area of Willow Lake Road and Marlin Court in Discovery Bay.

Engine 59 arrived on scene to locate a 16-year-old male who fell of his bicycle resulting in a head injury who was in and out of consciousness—including bleeding from the head.

AMR and ECCFPD worked to package the youth for a medical helicopter transport to John Muir Trauma Center in Walnut Creek under trauma protocol.

The cause of the patient fall is under investigation with the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office.
