CONFIRE Makes Arson Arrest in Antioch After Woman Sets Fire to Home

by ECT

At 11:15 am Friday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a suspicious fire in the 3900 block of Humming Bird Rd. in the City of Antioch that led to an arson arrest.

Kevin Brown, CONFIRE Fire Investigator, shared that crews responded to a smoke condition at a home. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered there had been a dispute and a female poured gas in the back of the home and set it on fire.

“The female occupant of the home was arrested and transported to Martinez Detention Facility and will be charged with an arson to an inhabited structure,” explained Brown. “She did set fire to the actual house.”

He also confirmed the female poured gas on another person at the home and he was not injured.

No other information was released as Antioch Police Department officers also responded.

Several hours earlier, crews battled a 2-alarm fire in Pittsburg that broke out just before 7:00 am.
