by ECT

On May 24, 2017 at 1 p.m., Brentwood officials will celebrate the unveiling of the first annual City of Brentwood Military/Veteran Banner Program.

The ceremony will be hosted by Brentwood Mayor Bob Taylor, Brentwood City Council Members, and Commander Steve Todd, from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10789, Brentwood, with the presenting of colors, by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10789 Color Guard and the Delta Diablo Marine Corp League, Detachment 1155.  County Supervisor Diane Burgis will also be in attendance as well as representatives from the offices of Congressman Jerry McNerney, Senator Steven Glazer, and Assembly member Jim Frazier.

The City of Brentwood Military/Veteran Banner Program has been established to honor and recognize active duty military personnel or military veterans that reside in, or have immediate family living in the City of Brentwood.

The City of Brentwood Military/Veteran Banner Program has been created as part of the City of Brentwood’s Citywide Banner Program, and the first to launch.

Each banner will display the official military photo of the service member or veteran, as well as their name, rank, and branch of the United States Armed Forces. 32 honorees representing all branches of the United States Armed Forces (Navy, Marines, Air Force, Army and Coast Guard) will be displayed from Memorial Day until Veterans Day, after which time, each banner will be presented to the honoree or family member, during a future City Council meeting or other determined event.

All honorees, applicants, family members and Brentwood residents are invited to attend the unveiling.  Veterans Park is located at 3841 Balfour Rd., Brentwood.
