On Saturday afternoon around 4:30 pm, westbound Highway 4 at Hillcrest was shut down after CHP received a report of a vehicle that had been shot at on the Highway 4 on-ramp at Hillcrest in the City of Antioch.
According to preliminary information, the victim had gotten into an argument at Safeway on Deer Valley where upon leaving the store, the victim and passenger of the vehicle was reportedly followed and shot at–with at least one confirmed gunshot into the vehicle. The driver then drove to CHP in Martinez where a report was taken. It was also stated the gunshot nearly hit the passenger in the vehicle.

HP then responded to the reported area of the shooting where they shut down the freeway and were looking for evidence from the incident.
Vehicles headed westbound were forced to get off at Hillcrest at BART and get back on at the Lone Tree Way entrance.
CHP has not yet released any information about the incident. The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene to assist with blocking traffic. No suspect information or suspect vehicle was released on scene.
By 5:00 pm, the freeway was re-opened.

If the two were arguing at SAFEWAY, then there is video of that incident and I hope the cops are smart enough to look at that video. I’m sure the outside cameras have recorded which cars was following which as they exited the parking lot.
The victim was interviewed on KRON4 news. Victim statements are so full of shit. They act like they didn’t do anything to provoke being shot at. All bullshit. Nobody is going to shoot at someone for no effin reason. Act like a victim now that you got shot at. Should’ve just shut your mouth at Safeway in the first place instead of acting like a badass tough guy. Now victim is all scared like a bitch saying if it was a hollow tip bullet and a few more inches this way then I would’ve got shot in the head. Blah blah blah. Victim also says in his KRON4 interview…” I don’t even know what your problem is man”, referring to the suspect. Actually yes you do MF! You know exactly why this dude is following you! This is very normal in Antioch California . Police can’t do anything because there is crime everywhere here . And police won’t care till someone dead even someone die police still can’t do anything . There’s nothing wrong with being on section 8 if you need help with paying rent. Not everyone on section 8 is taking advantage of or defrauding the system.
Antioch, CA. may have it’s share of crime but so does every other city including the city you live in.

Jay, first .. no one is “talking” … we are POSTING our thoughts which we have every right to do. Second, SECTION 8: The renter pays 30% of his income to the landlord and WE, THE TAXPAYERS pay the rest of the rent. THEREFORE, we are paying the landlords MORTGAGE PAYMENTS!! Not the landlord!! Get it?

Since 2014 30% of Oakland residents have been out priced of the rental market forcing them to leave. Where did all of these upstanding citizens of Oakland got to?? Surrounding areas. Maybe Antioch landlords should take note of Oakland’s plan to clean up their city.
