Byron Highway: 3 Injured After Vehicle Strikes Pole Sunday Morning

by ECT

At 5:30 am Sunday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vehicle versus pole on Byron Highway near Camino Diablo in the Town of Byron.

It was reported as three people in the vehicle with at least one person trapped. Engine 52 was also dispatched to the scene as a blocking engine due to fog in the area.

Upon arriving on scene, Engine 59 reported a total of three patients with one minor injury, one moderate injury and one major injury.  A medical helicopter was requested, however, due to fog, it was declined. Later it was determined the patients would be ground transported.

By 5:48 am, all patients were extricated from the vehicle.

Just….no….excuse! Period. None. It is not difficult to drive in that area. Especially after the $$$ spent to ” fix” what wasn’t broken to begin with.
