At 6:28 pm Thursday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of two vehicle crash on Byron Highway near Byer Road in the Town of Byron.
Engine 59 arrived on scene where they located one vehicle on its side and another had overturned on its roof with all occupants self-extricated.
According to Battalion Chief Jake Gonzalez, there were four patients with two under trauma activated protocol. One juvenile patient was transported by REACH Helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Oakland. Other patients were transported by AMR ground ambulance.
The crash is under investigation by CHP.
