BRENTWOOD, CA – Brentwood City Manager, Paul Eldredge, is pleased to announce that Bruce Mulder has been hired by the City as the Director of Parks and Recreation. Mulder was one of over 80 applicants vying to succeed Craig Bronzan who retired last December after 15 years with the City.

Bruce Mulder began his career in landscape maintenance and has worked for Walt Disney World in Florida; as a Recreation Coordinator, Specialist and Supervisor for a number of agencies; has served as the Executive Director of the Belvedere-Tiburon Joint Recreation Program; and is currently serving as the Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Manteca.

City Manager Paul Eldredge said, “Bruce’s experience and education, coupled with his knowledge of the community, make him a perfect fit for the Brentwood Director’s position. The Executive Team is looking forward to having him on board.”

In Manteca, Bruce directs and manages municipal park and recreation operations including the Parks, Landscape Maintenance Assessment Districts, Golf, Recreation, Community Services, Senior Services, Special Events and Library Service Program areas. He oversees the lease with Big League Dreams sports complex, and facility agreements with local school districts.

Bruce is a Brentwood resident and has served as a member of the City’s Park and Recreation Commission from 2011 to 2014. He has both a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Park and Recreation Resources from Michigan State University, with a concentration in Park and Recreation Administration.

Mulder will begin working for the City of Brentwood on June 2, 2014.
