At 2:49 pm Tuesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a reported vehicle versus pedestrian in Brentwood on Walnut Blvd and Oak Street which sent two people to the hospital.
The incident required seven ECCFPD firefighters and upon arrival, crews found a man down in the street being detained by a CHP officer who was being combative with law enforcement on scene.
According to the ECCFPD, the patient was hand cuffed and placed in a wrap for his safety. The patient was then transported via helicopter to John Muir Medical Center with a possible head injury.
A second adult had facial wounds and was transported by AMR to Sutter Delta Hospital in Antioch.
No further details were provided and the incident is still under investigation by the Brentwood Police Department.
