by ECT

The Brentwood Teachers Association, representing the teachers and certificated staff of the Brentwood Union School District, has endorsed Scott Dudek for Brentwood Union School District Board.

Darrin Spencer, BTA president noted Dudek’s passion for students teachers and the District in a release.

“Scott Dudek is a candidate who is passionate about students, teachers and our district. He will seek out information, visit classrooms and listen to staff, students and parents as we all deal with the many new challenges that are facing our students in our schools,” said Spencer.  “Scott Dudek feels that working with teachers is a critical part of ensuring we do the right thing for our students. Scott is up to date about the successes and challenges of Brentwood’s public schools and has already spent time with Superintendent Eaton. The Brentwood Teachers Association truly feels that Scott Dudek is a voice that we need on the school board.”

Scott DudekAbout Scott Dudek

My name is Scott Dudek, a candidate for the Brentwood Union School Board. I have lived in Brentwood since 1986 with my wife Kathy and my three daughters. I am a retired sergeant from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. As you can imagine I have seen many changes in the last 28 years.

All three of my daughters have attended Brentwood schools. My eldest daughter Renae, lives in Brentwood with her husband Justin and our two granddaughters. My middle daughter Amanda, lives and works in San Francisco. Both daughters graduated from college with their Bachelor degrees. My youngest daughter Paige, is a sophomore at UCLA. They were always excellent students, involved in many activities and benefited from their exceptional teachers.

My motivation to run for the BUSD board comes directly from community support I have received. I am very proud to be the only candidate the Brentwood Teachers Association endorsed. I feel the recent investigation into abuse of the special-education students has given the district a large “black eye.” I find it unusual that after the special-education investigation was completed, a superintendent was dismissed; a principal reassigned and a teacher was allowed to retire; however, the people who were directly in command are still in place.

I take pride in both my family and professional accomplishments. It is time we all get involved in giving the teachers the tools and support they need. Let’s make sure when our children go to school, they are safe and focusing on education.

With over 3000 homes dedicated to the retired community, I want to use their experience and have them more involved. I will be an advocate to the teachers, students and residents. It is time for a change so let us all move forward as a team for our children’s sake. If you have any questions or would like to talk to me, I can be reached at [email protected]. Thank you and please get out and vote!
