The funeral for Hayward Police Sergeant Scott Lunger, who was killed in the line of duty, will take place on Thursday July 30 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. Immediately after the services, the funeral procession will leave Oakland and travel to Union Cemetery in Brentwood for a private interment service.
The procession is planned to enter Brentwood from Vasco Rd. onto northbound Walnut Boulevard and proceed east onto Balfour Rd., then proceed south on Brentwood Blvd. to Union Cemetery. The public should expect traffic delays on those roadways while the procession travels through Brentwood.
The Brentwood Police Department would like to encourage our community members to support and honor Sergeant Lunger, his family, and his peers by lining the sidewalks of Walnut Blvd between Armstrong Rd and Balfour Rd, Balfour Rd. between Walnut Blvd and Brentwood Blvd., and Brentwood Blvd. between Balfour Rd. and Guthrie Lane.
The procession is anticipated to arrive in Brentwood at about 1:00PM, however with an event of this magnitude the anticipated time of arrival in Brentwood could be delayed.

Just an FYI…Hwy 4 is being repaved between Guthrie Lane and Byron Hwy.
