Updated: Brentwood Police Officer Not Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle

At 10:31 am Wednesday, while responding to an emergency call nearby, a Brentwood Police officer was struck at the intersection of Brentwood Blvd and Sand Creek Road in the City of Brentwood.

According to Police Lieutenant Walter O’Grodnick, there were no serious injuries to anyone involved and CHP is investigating the collision.

Although police did not confirm, it appears the officer was headed to a medical call (10:25 am) on Sycamore Ave near Garin Parkway where East Contra Costa Fire was in CPR and the nearest ambulance was 20-minutes away.

At 12:14 pm, Brentwood Police were also dispatched to a vehicle vs. pedestrian at Brentwood Blvd at Harvest Park Dr. No details have been released on that incident.

VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING BRENTWOOD POLICE VEHICLE

On Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at about 10:31 a.m. a marked Brentwood police vehicle and utility van collided in the intersection of Brentwood Blvd. and Sand Creek Rd.

The Brentwood officer, driving with emergency lights and siren was responding to an unrelated medical emergency call when the collision occurred. The officer and driver of the utility van suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Southbound Brentwood Blvd. between Sand Creek Road and Technology Way was completely shut down for approximately one and a half hours.

The circumstances surrounding the collision are being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.

No additional information is being released at this time.
