At 9:53 pm Friday, the Brentwood Police Department was investigating an officer involved shooting at Birchwood Road and Garin Parkway that left at least two people injured.

One male was airlifted to a local hospital after being shot in the hip and another was ground transported by AMR to another hospital with facial injuries according to Jeff Burris, Battalion Chief of the East Contra Costa Fire protection District.

Brentwood Police have not released any official information as of midnight on the shooting.

According to Brentwood resident Jamie Faith Perlee, the homeowner where the vehicle crashed into, she says a police chase occurred prior to the crash with gunshots being fired.

“From what I can tell it was a police chase and there were multiple shots fired by both the guys in the car and the police. There are bullet holes in my garage and they crashed into one of our trucks and my front porch. There were two guys in the car, I think one was shot, he was screaming for a long time, I don’t know how the other is. Medical helicopter came and got em. Very scary but my family is okay,” said Perlee.

Currently, Brentwood police have Birchwood Road blocked off and a portion of Garin Parkway.

Check back for updates as Brentwood Police will be issuing an official statement sometime in the morning hours.
