The Brentwood Police Department is currently investigating a pair of armed robberies at local salons which occurred Monday afternoon.
Police did not release much information as they did not want to compromise the investigation, but did confirm they occurred Monday afternoon.
“We are actively investigating two robberies that recently occurred at nail salons. The suspects and MO are the same in each case,” said Captain Doug Silva.
The first incident occurred at 5:15 pm at Angel Nails and Spa at 5611 Lone Tree Way in Brentwood and several minutes later at 5:27 pm at Lady Bug Nails at 2430 Sand Creek Road.
According to Silva, three hispanic males armed with knives entered the businesses, held the victims at knife point and took money from the businesses and patrons. No injuries to anyone involved.
Police said they have notified surrounding agencies and alerted other local salons.

Another reason not to go to nail salons! Just clean and trim back your nails and be done with it. No need winding up with daggers at the end of your fingertips.
I don’t patronize nail salons at all, but only hair salons and I never carry anything valuable with me (rings, earrings, necklaces). I put a couple of $20 bills in my pockets along with the keys to my car. Thieves have run in and grabbed purses of clients. In a few instances, they stole a little dog belonging to the salon owner.

In the future, if a lot of these robberies happen, the salon staff should keep the doors LOCKED and only let people in who make appointments or are known to the management. Same goes for jewelry stores, coin shops or antique shops. Actually, these days every store should keep their doors locked.
Remember when Brentwood was “safe”?

Need to go old school. Shop owners should have a .45 ready to go for such an occasion.
Shop owners should only deal with “by appointment” clients and keep the doors locked and only open them for their known clientele. Same goes for other businesses. These were two males, but females can also rob places. Only let in people you know.
