The Brentwood Police Department responded Saturday to the 800 block of Dainty Avenue for a report of a stabbing in the City of Brentwood.
The call came in at 9:43 am where they discovered a 37-year-old Brentwood man with multiple stab wounds who later died from his injuries at a local hospital.
According to police, the investigation revealed the victim and suspect (victims juvenile son) were engaged in a verbal argument inside their residence which escalated to a physical altercation between the two.
During the altercation, the suspect stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing on foot. The suspect was located a short time later about a block away from the crime scene without incident and later booked at Juvenile Hall in Martinez, charged with murder.

Is there a way to help any surviving family members? I cannot imagine the pain they’re going through.
