Brentwood Police Arrest Man in Shooting on Anderson Lane

On November 7, 2020 at 9:40 P.M. Brentwood Police officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Anderson Avenue for a report of a shooting in the area.

According to police, preliminary information revealed that the suspect (20 year old male – Brentwood) was involved in a dispute with his girlfriend (20 year old female – Brentwood).

A neighbor (41 year old male – Brentwood) attempted to assist the female and the suspect brandished a shotgun. As the victim and female were leaving the area three rounds were fired from the shotgun in their direction. The suspect fired into the ground near the victims feet and fortunately no one was injured.

On November 8, 2020, at about 2:00 A.M. the suspect was taken into custody without incident by officers who were on scene. He was booked into Contra Costa County Jail for 245(A)(2) PC – Assault With a Deadly Weapon, 417 PC – Exhibiting a Deadly Weapon and 273.5 PC – Domestic Violence.

Based on the investigation, this incident was isolated to specific individuals present and was not a random act of violence.
