Brentwood POA Thanks Alert Citizen For Tip that Leads to Arrest

by ECT

On the evening of May 6, an alert citizen contacted the Brentwood Police Department to report a suspicious subject at Veterans Park, located on Balfour Road. Officers responded to the area and recognized the subject as a wanted person with numerous felony warrants.

The subject fled from the Officers and led them on a brief foot pursuit before he was captured. The subject was identified as Melvin Davis and has since been booked at Martinez Detention Facility.

Without the tip of the alert citizen, this subject may still be at large.

The Brentwood Police Department’s POA wants to encourage the public to report any suspicious behavior they observe. This type of community partnership has proven to be an effective crime prevention technique

Awesome, we need more people like the Alert Citizen – JOB WELL DONE!!!

Now, we have one less loser in Brentwood, Oakley and Antioch. Positive citizens reporting crimes or suspicious activities helps reduce the crime.

Great Job to the Citizen and to Brentwood P.D..

Suspicious activity is a low priority call in Antioch. Would he have been caught if he was reported down by the Antioch Marina close to the station? This is in doubt.

I agree that crime in Antioch is out of control and there are people that should be held responsible for it but, your comment insinuates that APD does not care. They do and are doing a great job with the resources they have to do their job. We need to support them and make sure they get what they need to fight crime. Anymore who wants to criticize is welcome to apply for a job as an Antioch cop. Where’s the line??…….
