Brentwood: Oven Fire Forces Safeway to Evacuate Shoppers

At 6:30 pm, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District units responded to Safeway in Brentwood on 2nd Street after a fire was reported inside the building. The building was quickly evacuated as crews arrived on scene. By 6:40, fire crews confirmed the fire was out and damaged was limited to an “oven fire”. Engine 54 and Engine 52 remained on scene while all other units were cancelled.

Crews were on scene for 27-minutes.
