At roughly 7:46 am, a vehicle accident occurred on Deer Valley Road and Balfour Road in Brentwood which required a medical helicopter transport.
Engine 82 (CONFIRE) arrived on scene of a two-vehicle T-bone accident. The scene was immediately secured by E82 and law enforcement. A medical helicopter was requested after a juvenile was suffering from moderate to major injuries. The juvenile was transported by air to Children’s Hospital in Oakland.
According to the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District, it was reported that the driver of a small sedan pulled into the intersection and was broadsided by a large SUV type vehicle.

At the time of the call, Engine 52 (Balfour) was on another call which triggered the next closest Engine which was from CONFIRE (E82). At the time of the call, it came in as a traffic accident and was later upgraded to a helicopter transport request which had Engine 52 not cleared their call a second engine would have been coming from downtown Brentwood (E54) or Oakley (E93).
