Brentwood: Hover Board Catches Fire

by ECT

On December 14 at 10:46 pm the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a hover board that caught fire

According to Chief Hugh Henderson, he said they were dispatched to a reported structure fire last night involving a hover board.

“Engine 93 arrived and canceled the balance of the assignment,” said Henderson who said he did not have much other information other than fire crews were on scene for less than 40-minutes.

The fire reportedly began after the hover board was charged and was being used. It caught fire and was quickly put out.

The fire comes a day after Amazon stopped selling hover boards in both the US and UK. Meanwhile, it’s the 10th reported fire in recent weeks in the US, but first in the Bay Area.
