Brentwood: Daytime Paving Expected to Cause Delays on Balfour Road

by ECT

BRENTWOOD, CA –  Contractors are currently scheduled to repave Balfour Road within the interchange area during the upcoming 3-day weekend (and possibly the weekend of January 26-27, 2019), weather permitting.

Due to temperature constraints in the winter, paving work must be done during the daytime hours. At least one vehicular travel lane in each direction will be provided during this weekend work, and residents should expect delays when traveling through this area.

The latest updates, including more detailed information, is available on the Project website: http://4eastcounty.org/projects/balfour-road/.

Concerned residents can contact the Project hotline at 925.756.0721.

“Due to temperature constraints in the winter“. The freeze is over. These workers have a softer excuse than Trump and his “bone spurs”.

Field experience confirms that paving can be done under adverse weather conditions. However, the key to success is recognizing that paving practices that are successful in the warm summer months will not produce the same quality results in October through April. Background on compacting hot mix asphalt. Above all else, the temperature of hot mix asphalt (HMA) during the rolling operation is what will determine how successful the compaction operation will be. It’s important to have an understanding of how mix temperature is related to the compaction of HMA. ps-Trump 2020
