Brentwood Arts Commission Host Sand Creek Road Median Gateway Public Art Project Meeting

by ECT

BRENTWOOD, CA – The City of Brentwood Arts Commission invites you to attend the Arts Commission meeting on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at 150 City Park Way for the Sand Creek Road Median Gateway Public Art Project.

On February 28, 2017, City Council adopted Resolution 2017-24 approving two viable locations for the Citywide Gateway Monuments “4-Corners” Project. The budget for this project is from the Public Art Program Acquisition Fund which is money that developers and City projects have paid into for public art projects.  The money in this fund is restricted and can only be used for new public art projects in the community.

The Arts Commission has proceeded with agreements with four artists to create maquettes (miniature version of the artwork) for the Sand Creek Road Median Gateway Public Art project at a cost of $2,500 per artist.

The meeting will have presentations of the maquettes from each of the four (4) finalist artists for the Sand Creek Road Median Gateway Public Art project.  The Arts Commission will then discuss and recommend a final artist to City Council for their approval of the project.

The City of Brentwood requests all interested community members to attend and provide input as to the proposed art project.
