Brentwood: 56-Year-Old Man Airlifted to Hospital After Fall from Scooter

At 5:20 pm Wednesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District and Brentwood Police responded to a report of a 56-year-old man who sustained a head injury from a fall from a motorized scooter on San Jose Ave at Stonewood Drive in the City of Brentwood.

It was reported that the male had lost consciousness for approximately 3-minutes and had a crack his his helmet after the fall where he was estimated to be traveling at approximately 20-mph.

Firefighters and AMR provided patient care under a medical helicopter arrived on scene at Summerwood Park before the male was then airlifted to a local hospital. No other information was provided on scene.

The incident is under investigation by Brentwood Police.

Now that I am 50 and without health insurance I am terrified even to ride a bike. This is not because I really fear getting hurt, but I REALLY fear the hospital bills that will come with it.
