Brentwood: 12-Year-Old Skateboarding Struck by Vehicle Airlifted to Local Hospital

At 8:02 pm Tuesday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vehicle versus skateboarder at Sand Creek Road and Highland Way in the City of Brentwood.

Upon arrival, firefighters located a 12-year-old who was on the ground and ordered a medical helicopter. The patient was transported to John Muir Urgent Care (2400 Balfour Rd) where CALSTAR transported the patient to Children’s Hospital in Oakland.

According to Battalion Chief Craig Auzenne, the 12-year-old was riding his skateboard when he was hit by the vehicle and sustained injuries to the left side of his body and head. He was not wearing a helmet at the time.

The Brentwood Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
