What is so damn important that people can’t slow down and look around for kids around a school? This must happen before people wake up?! Prayers to the child and her family. Smh.

Last year a middle school girl was hit in the starbucks parking lot. We all need to slow the heck down and pay attention! Poor girl. I hope she’s ok.

Dangerous stretch of road. People driving East stop at Garin then jet off to next stop on Sellers. Have almost been hit myself trying to cross, even with a baby stroller.

It’s really unacceptable and needless to post pictures of this incident. Friends/family should not to have to see any kind of photo like this.

It’s a slippery slope for the media. I err on the side of letting the media call their own shots. It’s a tough call, and tuning in the news is optional for all of us.

Make 25 mph and a stop sign see close calls far to often there. I slow down in that intersection because of the lighting at certain times of day make it difficult to see. That would probably be part of the problem this morning with the sun rising in the east shining through the trees. Hope she is going to be ok.

Change speed to 25mph and add stop sign east and west. Have seen to many close calls. I always slow down in the intersection because it’s hard to see the intersection depending on what time of day it is. I’m sure the sun rising from the east shining through the trees played a part. Hope she is going to be ok.

my school Sep 17, 2018 - 3:33 pm

this was in front of my school when this happened, my friend and i saw the helicopter and knew something was wrong because nothing ever needs helicopters around our school. we were devastated to hear that a little kid got her. best wishes to her!

This probably happened right behind me as I came back from dropping off my daughter . It’s almost impossible to see going east at this intersection, due to the sun rising. I just go slow as possible turning into Guise. Prayers to the girl and her family.

I hope the young girl is ok. I would not be surprised if the party that hit her was a Discovery Bay resident.

Discovery Bay residents speed down Balfour daily trying to beat each down to Sellers; it has become worse now with the detour in place at Sellers. In addition, it will only get worse when Balfour widening of the road by Contra Costa County is completed.

Brentwood needs to put the same type of speed bumps from Delta Bowl to Sellers that they have on Fairview from Lone Tree Way to Sand Creek Road to calm the traffic.
