BART: No Service Between N. Concord and Bay Point Station

by ECT

Bay Area Rapid Transit announced that there is no service to East Contra Costa between the N. Concord Station and Pittsburg/Bay Point Wedenday night due to an equipment problem on the track.

BART announced around 3:15 pm they now anticipate the problem continuing into the night. The problem was first reported by BART around 10:14 am.

BART says a trackside equipment problem is expected to cause systemwide delays this afternoon and tonight with the most significant impacts to the Pittsburg/Bay Point to SFO line.

Train service has been suspended between North Concord/Martinez and Pittsburg/Bay Point stations and we anticipate that this service suspension will continue into the evening. Although BART’s transit partners have contributed buses to a bus bridge that is connecting the two stations, BART passengers using the bus bridge should anticipate crowded buses and additional travel time.

Passengers on the Pittsburg/Bay Point to SFO line are encouraged, if possible, to avoid rush hour trains by either leaving early or staying late as trains on this line will be shorter and less frequent than full service.

This disruption is the result of a trackside equipment problem that we are working to troubleshoot and correct. Customers are encouraged to sign up for BART service advisories to receive updated information
